Which ceiling suits a commercial space?
Suspended grid ceilings suit offices and back of house where services need access. Flat plasterboard ceilings and bulkheads suit retail floors, reception areas and anywhere the look matters. Most fitouts use both. We build either, and the partition walls under them, so the junctions are done once and done properly.
Commercial ceiling heights commonly run 2.7 metres or more, often with a suspended ceiling below a higher slab. Houses in WA need at least 2.4 metres in habitable rooms under the National Construction Code.
